Serenity Blue began in November of 2011 as a creative outlet for a girl who dared to follow her dreams of being an artist one day. Today, with the same fire that drove her dreams then, Serenity Blue aspires to see how one nerdy girl can carve out a little corner of the internet to share her passions for gaming and art with the rest of the world.

Aeres Anastasia's Adventures in Gaming: Infinity Week Four

Aeres Anastasia

   "I will accept your resignation."

With one phrase, the gauntlet was dropped this week and the battle that followed was pretty fun watch. This week the match was between Ariadna and Aleph (but my brother's Aleph-not my Femme Fatale army). I will admit, the Ariadna starting force was pretty impressive for 300 points, but then again, I'm used to small-ish armies as my ladies aren't cheap when it comes to fielding them. The Aleph had a nice assortment of units though as well. There's just something about seeing werewolves on the battlefield though. I love my army but man, Ariadna is cool looking.

Aleph got first go this week and they hit the ground running. They had a mishap with a smoke grenade but they bounced back with a critical discover roll to force the Araidnan Tank Hunter out of camo. Poor guy was barely on the board before he fell unconscious. Aleph draws first blood.

With the big gun down, Ariadna goes to town. Impetuous orders abound and units begin a forward push towards the enemy. Smoke is hurled all over the place. Devil Dog and his Antipode make a dash across the board and try to sneak around a building. Another unit draws an ARO taking a hit and transforms into a werewolf, still charging the enemy. Axe Doctor actually manages to heal someone for once (this guy before tonight has had a 1 in 10 success rate). Werewolf guy gets in close to an Aleph unit and chainguns him off the board.

Aleph uses their turn to go full on after the Antipode, dropping smoke and going after him with everything they have. The Myrmidon Doctor tries an attack, but it goes horribly wrong and winds up very dead. At the end of the turn, the Antipode is still standing.

Ariadna once again went hole heartedly forward into enemy territory drawing heavy ARO fire. A few small units were lost, and werewolf guy goes down fighting an Aleph but takes the Aleph unit with him. The Devil Dog is taken down as well as the Antipode but they take down the Aleph Lieutenant and at the end of the turn, only one Aleph remains standing.

The last round, solo Aleph guy manages to take out a good number of the Ariadna army and is still standing at the end of his turn. Sadly, he succumbs to wounds inflicted by the Biker on the Ariadna last round. He made a valiant effort, but despite the rally at the end, Aleph fell to Araidna.

There was a lot of back and forth this week, which made sitting out to watch a good deal of fun. A lot of die rolls didn't turn out quite so well on either side. It makes me wish that Infinity was a little like D&D where when you fail something spectacularly something dreadful (or hilarious depending upon your outlook-and DM) occurs. It'd certainly be entertaining.

We are still working on the video of last week. This week, technology decided to work against us and we had to scrap recording. There's been a lot of post recording editing going on, as well as some tweaks and such. If nothing else, we'll be interested to get opinions on it once we do manage to get it up. Until then though, I wish everyone great gaming adventures of their own!
